Job Description
KP Staffing Garland is now hiring forklift operators/material handlers for a company in Mesquite, TX! Job Summary You will manage the flow of materials and products through the facility, including receiving, storing, staging, and distributing materials to support production and warehouse operations. The material handler II will operate sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, contribute to process improvements, and assist in training junior team members. Pay $18 per hour Shift 1st shift Duties Load and unload materials from trucks or containers using manual and mechanical methods, including sit-down forklifts or pallet jacks Stage materials for production lines and replenish stock as required to maintain workflow efficiency Conduct inventory counts, maintain accurate records, and report discrepancies to supervisors Ensure materials are labeled, organized, and stored according to company procedures Collaborate with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to ensure timely and accurate material movement Operate sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner Assist in shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments Read and interpret work orders, shipping manifests, and inventory reports to prioritize tasks Identify and recommend process improvements for material flow and inventory management Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report issues for repair Support other logistics and operational tasks assigned by supervisors Responsibilities Train and mentor Material Handler I team members in procedures and equipment operation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent At least 1-3 years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a related field Certification or ability to become certified in forklift operation Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, work orders, and blueprints Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with coworkers Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in material handling Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 75 lbs. as required for the role Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching in warehouse and production settings Manual dexterity for handling materials and operating equipment Ability to occasionally climb ladders or operate at elevated heights Job Type Temp-to-hire How to Apply Start by submitting your resume or visit KP Staffing Garland for an in-person interview.
