In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and move products within the yard. Your expertise in material handeling, inventory control, and adherence to safety standards will ensure smooth yard operations and timely order fulfillment. Duties Safely operate forklift trucks such as lift trucks and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments. Manage inventory by accurately following standard operating procedures and systems and ensuring proper stock rotation. Pick orders efficiently using proper loading documentation and equipment and manual handling techniques to meet daily shipping targets. Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments against paperwork and preparing outbound deliveries. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for any malfunctioning machinery to ensure safety and operational continuity. Maintain a clean and organized yard environment by properly storing materials on pallets or racks and adhering to OSHA safety protocols. Support warehouse distribution activities through manual handling of heavy materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards in production environments. Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling safety standards. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and warehouse operations. Previous experience in yard operations or materials handling roles is a plus. Valid forklift certification or equivalent training; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held.
