Job Description

Industrial Forklift Operator Chesapeake, VA Full Time $18.00 - $21.00 based on experience Givens is Driven to Deliver- both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 we have provided our customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are looking for a Yard Laborer/ Forklift Operator for our Packing and Crating division. Must have the ability to operate 35k forklifts and have rigging experience. If you have this experience, we would like to meet you!
Responsibilities:
Securing of freight to flat racks and in open top containers. Utilizing Industrial 35k forklifts to accomplish tasks. Cleaning out/off containers and work areas. Must be able to follow direction, work independently or work in a team. Careful handling of customer freight. Requirements Must have 3 years of experience with 35 k forklift. Must have one year of rigging experience. Experience moving heavy objects. Working outside in warehouse yard securing freight to ocean equipment containers (open top/flat rack) for export. Unloading import freight from ocean equipment containers. Use of chains/binders, strapping material, tape measures, power tools (nail guns/saws). Attention to detail. Careful handling of freight. Able to withstand outside conditions during the seasons. Benefits This position is within a small business environment with opportunity for growth. Competitive compensation depending on experience.
