Our internal structure | CCSPA operates with a small staff at our headquarters office consisting of 4 people filling multiple roles including but not limited to: administration, retail management, marketing, communications, community program outreach and events coordination. In addition we have a team of paid and volunteer staff working in our 4 store locations. As a nonprofit, we are governed by a board of directors. As a cooperating association, we are accountable to California State Parks and the Department of Parks and Recreation. We have volunteers and interns, and financially support the work of State Parks volunteers. The opportunity | CCSPA is looking to hire a Fundraising & Outreach Lead to secure financial support and build partnerships for our organization. Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Fundraising & Outreach Lead will spearhead and assist with development efforts to drive CCSPA's growth and impact in our local community. The Fundraising & Outreach Lead will define and be accountable for defining a fundraising strategy and goals, understanding fundraisers' interests, building lasting relationships with donors, and cultivating relationships with fellow employees and volunteers. You will be an active participant in fundraising events, public relations and marketing. A key aspect of our fundraising portfolio is grants. A core part of this role will be identifying, writing, securing and managing grants. As Fundraising & Outreach Lead you will also support outreach efforts to drive awareness and engagement with our community. This entails managing digital media and marketing to increase our reach to our local businesses, corporations and individuals who can help further our efforts and mission to support our local state park educational programs. Responsibilities | Fundraising & Development Assist Executive Director in executing CCSPA's Annual Fundraising Strategy and Plan Oversee membership database (Fundly and Bloomerang CRM) Data entry, gift processing and generation and mailing of renewal and thank you letters Communicate with and track donations form High Net Worth private donors/foundations, including impact reporting Identify, write, secure, manage and report on grants. Generate development materials such as campaign graphics, email marketing, physical letters and brochures , and elevator pitches. Collaborate with other team members to Identify and implement fundraising campaigns and brainstorm ways to increase, sustain, and engage donorship Serve as a CCSPA liaison with our donor community and partnerships Maintain ongoing relationships with major donors and sponsors Outreach and Marketing Management Manage and create content for CCSPA social media on multiple platforms Design and build fundraising campaigns consistent with CCSPA brand identity to achieve fundraising goals and impact programs Serve as one of CCSPA's liaisons to the public by attending outreach events, community group meetings and State Parks events Collaborate with State Park Partners to support and attend programs and activities Update CCSPA website and develop web content as requiredto make site quickly communicate CCSPA's Mission, be more intuitive and visual appealing Reporting & Impact Measurement Analyze reports and details the effectiveness of campaigns Prepare and provide progress reports to the Executive Director & Board Design and deliver impact reporting for grants and donations Intern Management Manage team of interns in at least three program areas: podcast production, events, Videography, and social media Oversee intern writing weekly online newsletters Recruit interns and/or volunteers as needed Other Duties Assist with administrative work as needed Other duties as assigned by the executive director. Who are we looking for? | At least 2 years of professional fundraising and donor relations experience Positive attitude, humility, open to viewing mistakes as learning opportunities Able to build a sound and compelling strategy and manage delivery against it Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence required Must be self-motivated and deadline-driven and be able to multitask Impeccable organization, attention to detail, and follow-through Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives Aside from expertise in internet use, e-mail, Microsoft Office, and G-Suite apps, candidates are expected to be familiar and competent with the use and management of donor databases Professional experience with social media platforms Ability to learn new technology software and platforms quickly Graphic design and attention to aesthetics a plus Engaged and active in multiple social and professional networks in the region Well-informed about regional events and politics Bachelor's degree Commitment to CCSPA's mission, and a love for Central Coast State Parks The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and have excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with people of all ages and backgrounds, and highly motivated to find ways of expanding the CCSPA donorship network and put on memorable and well-organized events that meet or exceed fundraising goals.
