The Farmworker Coordinating Council (FWCC) is seeking a Development Director to lead and implement the organizations fundraising and marketing initiatives. This role focuses on increasing public awareness, cultivating donor relationships, and securing resources to support FWCCs mission. The Development Director will oversee all fundraising efforts including individual and corporate contributions, special events, and mail appeals, while creating strategies to attract new supporters. We are looking for someone flexible and eager to learn a variety of tasks to support the agency.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Develop and execute annual fundraising plans aligned with agency goals. Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all agency fundraising events. Research and identify new fundraising opportunities, including sponsorships and donor programs. Track and analyze fundraising performance to inform strategies and reporting. Report on progress toward fundraising goals to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors. Create and manage donor stewardship processes, including thank-you letters and impact updates. Maintain donor database and ensure accurate recordkeeping. Network, coordinate, and collaborate with public, private, and community organizations to increase public awareness and build new partnerships. Identify opportunities for donor recognition and engagement. Produce fundraising materials, newsletters, brochures, social media content and program materials. Manage and keep up to date the agency website. Advocate for the farmworker community at the local, state, and federal level. Work with the media and maintain good public relations for the agency including speaking engagements and presentations. Monitor press coverage, draft press releases, and build relationships with local and national media. Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Board of Directors. Work as team member with other staff.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent. An associates degree in marketing/communications or related area is preferred. Years of experience in development or any related field preferably in a nonprofit setting is a plus. Experience in developmental strategies and fundraising skills are helpful but not essential. Applicant must demonstrate written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish proficiency is a plus). Experience with digital marketing platforms, donor databases and fundraising platforms is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to drive safely and to carry out the above responsibilities. Some lifting and moving of donations (clothing, furniture, bags of food) required.
