Director of Development SafeHouse Ministries - 2.7 Columbus, GA Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $60,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Interpersonal skills Public speaking Research Bachelor's degree Newsletters (communication methods) Budgeting Full Job Description SafeHouse Ministries exists to love and serve people affected by addiction and homelessness as they transition back into our community. We operate, Tomorrow's Hope, a free state licensed and CARF accredited Intensive Outpatient Treatment program. We have three shelters for our homeless clients. Freedom House for men with 104 beds, Grace House for women and children with 54 beds and Trinity House for families. 68% of those that stay with us move into their own homes. We also operate a childcare and early learning center called, Bright Futures of Columbus. The Director of Development at SafeHouse Ministries is responsible for planning and implementing the fundraising strategy for the entire ministry. The Director will report to the Executive Director and act as a member of the leadership team. They will seek major gifts from individuals, corporations, churches and foundations through solicitation and donor engagement, including: correspondence, event/reception planning, grant research/proposal writing and personal visits. The Director of Development will fill a vital leadership role, serving on the leadership team and overseeing the Development Committee.
Responsibilities:
Create and implement a fundraising plan with the Executive Director Lead and manage development efforts to raise the annual budget Supervise and support the Development Team Set measurable goals for development activities and regularly report on progress Set and implement annual and long-term development strategies Manage relationships with current donors and practice timely gratitude Lead grant writing efforts, monitoring grant timelines and submissions Write and design quarterly newsletter Identify and pursue new donor prospects Maintain donor database Plan and coordinate the Golf Tournament, including recruiting new sponsors. Design an annual event, possibly a signature event Maintain relationships with current donors, board members, and staff Social media marketing and web site management Prepare solicitations, spring, summer and fall Additional responsibilities as needed to support Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree and minimum two years of experience in development, fundraising, non-profit, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills Good computer skills and knowledge of database management Experience working with executives, board members and community leaders Flexibility to work some nights and weekends Ability to work with little supervision Public speaking experience a plus
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
