The Development Director works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in development and fundraising endeavors with the long-term goal of serving every child in foster care in Greene, Christian, and Taney Counties with the highest quality advocacy. The Development Director is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Development Strategies and Activities:
Create and implement the annual development plan with goals derived from established strategic plan and budgeted objectives. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders through effective stewardship activities and communications. Oversee all aspects of fundraising activities including event planning, mail campaigns, and social media to maximize outreach. Generate new ideas that increase revenue and improve donor loyalty. Coordinate CASA of SWMO's special events, including leading committees, soliciting, and securing sponsorships, and more. Oversee the development budget and monitor expenses. Manage systems and software to track, cultivate, and steward donors and prospects. Assist the Executive Director in grant-development, including research, proposal writing, and reporting. Communicate fundraising goals throughout the organization and equip team members to reach them. Recruit, train, and support key volunteers to assist in development efforts. Serve as liaison to the Board Development Committee.Marketing and Community Outreach:
Oversee CASA of SWMO publications to support fundraising activities, including digital and print communications, such as annual report, e-newsletter, and direct mailing. Make public appearances and accept speaking engagements to share information about CASA of SWMO with the community. Motivate community members to engage with CASA's mission.- Prepare and post social media content.
- Maintain website and online communications.
- Provide supervision to the Communications Coordinator and other development team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, or other development related field.
- Three years of experience in development and database fundraising software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and the ability to learn and use various database software.
- Experience and skills with persuasive communication in a variety of formats.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Skilled at building relationships through in-person, phone, and email approaches.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Successfully complete criminal background check and child abuse background check.
- Commitment to CASA of SWMO's goals, mission, and values.
- Effectively multitask projects and stay organized.
Work Environment:
The job takes place in an office setting at the CASA of Southwest Missouri location. The employee may also travel between the office, other corporate offices, non-profit agencies, and event locations. This position works closely with the public and coworkers and must be able to intermingle in an open office setting. This position may be required to work outside during work/fundraising functions. Must be able to work weekends and evenings, as required. Flexibility in work schedule is provided.
