: The Director of Development will lead and develop an internal team to support development goals to fund and sustain the agency annually and into its future.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
SUPPORTAND PARTNER WITH THE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND BOARD MEMBERS ON ALL MAJOR FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES
Leads an organization's fundraising strategies to secure financial sustainability. The Director is responsible for managing donor relationships, grant writing, special events, and major gift campaigns, while mentoring development staff and managing the department budget. Design and implement comprehensive annual fundraising plans, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, events, and foundation support. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual and corporate donors, nurturing long-term partnerships.CLEAR STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP EXPECTATONS
In collaboration with the CEO, develop long-term fundraising strategies, revenue diversification planning, pipeline development and forecasting, and data driven decision making expectations.MAJOR GIFTS & PORTFOLIO OWNERSHIP
Manages a personal portfolio of high-level donors, owing revenue responsibility tied to major gifts alongside theCEO. METRIC & ACCOUNTABILITY
Manage key performance indicators set annually around donor retention, growth, event performance, and revenue targets.PLANNED GIVING & LEGACY GIVING STRATEGIES
Provide leadership to develop planned strategy and a legacy program. Supervise development staff, set goals, and provide guidance for team performance. Creates, manages, and report on the development budget and progress toward financial goals to the CEO and Board. Oversees, plans, and execute special events, fundraising campaigns and marketing efforts to promote the agency. Ensures that gifts are allocated in the agency budget according to guidelines set forth by the funder and ensure that reports of these funds are provided by set deadlines.SUPPORTS AND PARTNERS WITH THE PRESIDNET AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM ON ALL MAJOR FUNDRAISING INITATIVES
Develops and executes the P4K annual fundraising plan. Manages the implementation and use of Virtuous CRM, One Cause, and all other platform used and oversees staff responsible for data entry and gift processing. Works monthly with CFO and accounting team to make sure accounts balance for end of year and audit. Develops and maintains all fundraising activities to ensure fundraising goals are being achieved. Oversees the planning and execution of all special fundraising events as specified by the development annual plan. Assists and leads the P4K Development Committee established by the BOD and any other committees assigned. Develops and tracks proposals and assists on all foundation and corporate fundraising. Coordinates all donor thank-you's and kind donations. Oversees and advances the agency's grant program by developing and monitoring a pipeline in conjunction with the Grans Coordinator and any outside fund development consultants.PROMOTES THE ORGANIZATION AND FOSTERS AN UNDERSTANDING OF PHILANTHROPY WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION
Works in tandem with the Communication Coordinator to develop a comprehensive marketing and communication plan to promote the organization to its donors and maximize public awareness of the fundraising activities of the organization. Builds relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects. Enhances professional knowledge by attending educational workshop/seminars and establishing professional networks. Participates in agency committees as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required in Public Administration, Finance, or related field Minimum of 3-5 years in program management experience in a mid to upper-level position required Minimum of 5-7 years of experience required in fundraising or sales Ability to form and foster long-term relationships Proven knowledge of annual giving, major gifts, and all areas of planned gifts Extensive knowledge and experience with special events Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills Working knowledge of CRM and its operations and capabilitiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITES
Ability to mentor and coach a team on organizational improvement, change management, and individual performance; effectively communicates performance expectations Highly developed interpersonal, public speaking, problem solving, and strategic and analytical decision-making skills Competent computer skills required to perform essential functions. Knowledge of donor softwareSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
