Reporting to the Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Vice President for Giving will oversee and manage the staff and day-to-day operations of the Annual Fund team and the Major Gifts team to ensure coordinated constituency engagement and fundraising to meet goals in our comprehensive campaign. The person in this role will grow a culture of philanthropy on behalf of Siena University by managing a portfolio of leadership gift prospects including alumni, parents, and community leaders, and supporting the efforts of high-level volunteers. This position will be integral in the development of a Prospect Management program, in partnership with the AVP of Campaign Operations. The candidate must possess excellent judgment and knowledge regarding best practices in Development, and exceptional fundraising and campaigning skills.Responsibilities:
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of approximately 100 leadership gift ($100,000+ level) prospects during a multi-year campaign for Siena. Oversee the staff and activities of the Annual Fund program and Major Gifts program to generate higher levels of giving in both programs, with a specific focus on elevating our leadership society (President's Circle). Analyze and use data to plan for and realize growth in the number of donors across all constituencies, through a direct mail program, personal outreach, volunteer management, social media and more. Partner with Marketing and Communications staff to develop strategic communications and marketing collateral for the Annual Fund and Major Gift programs. A key partner in developing and facilitating content for the Siena Magazine. Regional and National travel for individual prospect visits is required to increase engagement and support for Siena.Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Development or 15 years of fundraising experience. A sophisticated advancement professional who possesses strong frontline fundraising skills and a track record of successful annual and major gift solicitation of alumni, parents and friends. Demonstrated success in management and mentorship of Annual Fund and Major Gift fundraising staff and ability to motivate and inspire direct reports, fostering collaboration and high performance. Experience in translating goals into metrics-driven action. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; strong integrity and experiences in mission-centered, donor-centric fundraising efforts. Experience managing leadership volunteers, including periodic work with Trustees. Knowledge and experience in prospect tracking, stewardship and reporting procedures and all aspects of annual giving programs. Experience with fundraising CRM software products Experience managing budgets and allocating resources to core functions of the Development team during a multi-year comprehensive campaign. Ability to travel nationally and regionally.Preferred Qualifications:

Annual Salary:
