Make a Difference Through Philanthropy Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is seeking a results-driven Major Gifts Officer to help advance our mission by securing philanthropic support through major gifts of $10,000 and above . This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of current and prospective donors and achieving annual fundraising goals through strategic donor engagement, solicitation, and stewardship. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in major gift fundraising, strong strategic planning skills, and the ability to identify opportunities that inspire philanthropic investment in CMCS programs and services.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of major-gift donors and prospects, developing strategies to secure new gifts, renew support, and increase giving. Develop and execute quarterly and annual major-gifts plans aligned with established revenue and activity goals. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and secure gifts of $10,000 and above from new and existing donors. Maintain an active qualified prospect pipeline, move donors through the major-gift cycle, and adjust strategy when results are off track. Build strong donor relationships through meetings, calls, site visits, events, and other individualized engagement. Maintain timely donor records, solicitation plans, gift projections, next steps, and portfolio activity in the agency's donor database.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant fundraising experience will be considered. 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including success soliciting and closing major gifts.
Additional Requirements:
Established professional network within the regional philanthropic, business, foundation, and/or high-net-worth donor community. Proven ability to manage a donor portfolio, build a qualified pipeline, and meet or exceed fundraising revenue goals. Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and solicitation skills. Proficiency with donor-management/CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications. Bi-Lingual or Multi-Lingual a plus.
