Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Advancement and Engagement Director is responsible for leading the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position will develop and implement strategies to increase financial resources and community visibility. The Advancement and Engagement Director will supervise the Strategic Partnership Manager and Grants Manager.Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising and Development:
Develop and implement annual fundraising plans to achieve revenue targets. Cultivate, maintain, and enhance relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and campaigns. Oversee grant writing efforts, manage relationships with funding bodies, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.Donor Engagement and Stewardship:
Develop strategies to grow the organization's donor base and enhance relationships with current donors. Ensure the timely and meaningful acknowledgment of contributions. Produce and distribute regular updates and impact reports to donors and stakeholders.Supervision of Engagement Coordinator:
Supervise the development roles, ensuring effective management of volunteers, in-kind donations, grants and the donor database. Develop strategies to enhance volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, and retention. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of in-kind donations and maintain the integrity of donor information in the database.Marketing and Communications:
Work with the marketing team to improve the organization's visibility and public image. Assist in creating marketing materials and communication strategies to support fundraising and engagement efforts. Act as a representative of the organization at community events and in media appearances.Leadership and Management:
Develop and manage the advancement team's budget. Set objectives and evaluate the performance of the development staff. Participate in organizational strategic planning and leadership meetings.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in fundraising or development roles, preferably within a nonprofit environment. Demonstrated success in meeting fundraising goals and expanding donor bases. Strong leadership skills and experience supervising staff or volunteers. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in using donor management systems and databases. Flexible schedule with the ability to attend evening or weekend events as needed.Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of and interest in human services, especially poverty, homelessness, and unemployment. Excellent interpersonal skills, including compassion and a sensitivity to social issues. Sound judgment and an ability to act quickly and professionally under pressure. Capacity to manage multiple projects/priorities with little oversight.Compensation:
