Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development and Donor Engagement to lead our fundraising initiatives and cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners. This pivotal role combines strategic planning, innovative outreach, and data-driven engagement to advance our mission and expand our impact. Essential ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Fundraising Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy aligned with Drexel Academy's strategic priorities. Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, churches, and community partners. Coordinate annual giving campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, and special fundraising initiatives. Identify and pursue new philanthropic opportunities that support the Academy's growth and sustainability. Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship activities. Grant Development Research and identify grant opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Write compelling grant proposals and funding requests. Manage grant submission timelines and reporting requirements. Track grant outcomes and ensure compliance with all funding requirements. Collaborate with school leadership to gather data and measure program impact. Community Engagement & Partnerships Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations, businesses, faith-based institutions, and civic leaders. Represent Drexel Academy at community meetings and networking events. Coordinate donor recognition and appreciation efforts. Communications & Advancement Develop compelling stories and communications that highlight student achievement and school impact. Assist with donor newsletters, annual reports, sponsorship materials, and fundraising campaigns. Support marketing and social media efforts that increase awareness of Drexel Academy's mission. Events & Special Projects Plan and coordinate fundraising events and donor engagement activities. Assist with school-wide events that promote community involvement and philanthropic support. Develop partnerships that enhance the Academy's visibility throughout the Tulsa community. Reporting & Accountability Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director on fundraising progress, grant activity, and donor engagement. Maintain organized development records and performance metrics. Monitor progress toward annual fundraising goals and recommend strategies for continued growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, grant writing, sales, marketing, or relationship management preferred. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional organizational and project management abilities. Ability to build authentic relationships with diverse stakeholders. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Passion for education, philanthropy, and serving children and families. Experience Proven success in nonprofit fundraising or development roles with at least five years of experience in donor engagement or related fields. Extensive experience in event planning and management for large-scale fundraising events or campaigns. Demonstrated ability in proposal writing for grants and major gift solicitations within the nonprofit industry. Expertise in digital marketing strategies including email marketing, social media management, and website content management (WordPress preferred). Knowledge of nonprofit industry grant writing processes, budgeting practices, and database management experience.
