Job Description

The Vice President of Mission Advancement is a strategic and relationship-driven leader responsible for advancing the philanthropic mission of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. This role plays a key leadership function in strengthening fundraising performance, cultivating philanthropic partnerships, and expanding engagement among donors, volunteers, corporations, and foundations. This role will help deepen a culture of philanthropy across the Association while supporting sustainable growth in charitable giving. The position will also help strengthen communications that demonstrate the impact of YMCA programs and services. The Vice President of Mission Advancement will provide direct supervision to the Director of Annual Giving and Regional Annual Campaign Directors and will play a key role in strengthening corporate giving, philanthropic communications, and impact storytelling across the Association.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, mission advancement, or nonprofit development. Demonstrated success in major gifts and relationship management. Experience supervising fundraising professionals and managing performance toward goals. Proven ability to work effectively with CEOs, board members, and high-level volunteers. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated success in corporate and foundation fundraising preferred. Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA.
