Job Description

The Development Director (DD) is integral to the day-to-day execution of Breakthrough T1D's integrated fundraising efforts. The role focuses on relationship building with key donors and fundraising volunteers, driving impact, and strengthening the donor/volunteer pipeline. The position involves leading the Orange County Gala, overseeing the Inland Empire market, and managing two direct reports. Responsibilities Fundraising & Engagement (60%): Implement revenue plans to drive year-over-year growth; acquire and solicit mid and major level Fund A Cure donors; design cultivation events; manage the Inland Empire market. Volunteer Management (20%): Recruit, cultivate, and manage volunteer leaders and committees; partner with leadership to solicit funding. Awareness (10%): Articulate the organization's strategic direction and mission; represent Breakthrough T1D as an enthusiastic spokesperson. Administration and Management (10%): Provide performance management and professional development to direct reports; manage budget and pipeline strategies; maintain policies and procedures. Qualifications 5-7 years of fundraising experience, with a record of achievement in a mission-driven organization managing revenue of $750k+. Experience leading staff teams and managing large-scale events (walks, galas). History of securing and retaining sponsors, donors, and table hosts. Strong network of relationships within the local area preferred. College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to travel locally; evening and weekend work is required.
Salary:
Target salary range of $105,000 - $112,000.
Location:
Irvine, CA (Hybrid schedule: in office, remote, and in the field).
