Family Giving Tree (FGT) is seeking a strategic, relationship-focused Development Manager to grow our individual giving program. This role is responsible for building and executing the strategy for individual giving. In year one, this work will focus on moving the program toward a $2.4M individual-giving target (responsible for $1.5 million of that) through a balanced approach to retention, donor expansion, and acquisition, in partnership with the broader team. The Development Manager will help strengthen and expand a sustainable base of individual supporters. This position manages a small team focused on implementation, works closely with the Community Resource Development team to align messaging, cadence, and performance metrics, and partners with the CEO to build and grow a major gifts program. We are looking for someone who brings strong fundraising experience, innovative thinking, and the ability to move ideas into action.
What you will do:
Lead and grow FGT's individual giving program, focused on acquisition, retention, stewardship, and long-term donor growth Build and implement a strategy using Moves Management best practices (Research, Cultivate, Solicit, Steward) Lead and collaborate with development team members to implement multi-channel fundraising efforts, including direct mail, digital campaigns, and in-person outreach Develop annual and multi-year individual giving plans that grow revenue and deepen donor engagement through authentic, long-lasting relationships with FGT Collaborate with the Community Resource Development team and other FGT staff to create opportunities for meaningful event-based cultivation Identify opportunities to move volunteers and the broader community into active donors Partner with the CEO on building and growing a major gifts program Manage and support a small team responsible for the implementation of individual giving initiatives Collaborate across the Community Resource Development team to align messaging, campaign cadence, and reporting Track, analyze, and report on revenue trends, donor behavior, and campaign performance to inform strategy and identify opportunities Use Salesforce to manage donor data, pipelines, and reporting Partner with Marketing to develop clear, consistent messaging and materials across channels Represent FGT externally with donors, volunteers, and community partners Support agency-wide initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed Participate in donor events and community engagement activities, including planning and implementation support Some evening and weekend availability will be required during peak fundraising seasons and events What we are looking for 3-5+ years of fundraising experience with a strong focus on individual giving Proven success in building and growing annual giving programs and donor pipelines Experience with Moves Management or similar relationship-based fundraising approaches Strong team management, program management, and time management skills Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day implementation Experience in analyzing data and translating it into actionable insights Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Experience working across teams and managing multiple priorities Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with shifting priorities Details Full-time role based in Santa Clara with some travel throughout the Bay Area for meetings, events, and community engagement. Evening and weekend work will be required during peak fundraising and event periods. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and local travel required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. FGT does not provide relocation support.
