Our organization takes students and adults on immersive educational journeys that connect Jewish values to social justice and civil rights history, work that depends on strong philanthropic partnerships to reach more communities each year. This is an opportunity to build meaningful donor relationships, shape a growing fundraising program, and directly fuel the expansion of programs that leave a lasting mark on participants. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and strategic Director of Development to lead our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This pivotal role involves cultivating relationships, designing innovative campaigns, and implementing comprehensive development strategies to support our organization's mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing nonprofit initiatives, possess exceptional communication skills, and demonstrate a proven track record in securing major gifts and grants. As a dynamic leader, you will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including events, digital marketing, and donor relations, ensuring sustained growth and increased community impact. Position Purpose The Director of Development builds the philanthropic resources and relationships necessary to sustain and expand Tzedek America's mission. Core Responsibilities Develop and execute Tzedek America's annual fundraising strategy. Identify foundation, institutional, corporate, and individual funding opportunities aligned with Tzedek America's existing mission and programs. Research, write, submit, and manage grant applications and reports. Ensure grant proposals reflect programs Tzedek America can realistically and strategically deliver. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors. Schedule and participate in donor cultivation and stewardship meetings. Maintain accurate donor and prospect information in the CRM. Develop donor communications, case statements, proposals, impact materials, and fundraising collateral. Plan and execute two fundraising events each year. Develop strategies for donor acquisition, retention, upgrading, and stewardship. Work with program staff to collect stories, outcomes, participant feedback, and other evidence of impact. Partner with leadership in cultivating major donors and institutional funders. Support the development and engagement of Tzedek America's Board. Provide a weekly fundraising pipeline and progress reports to leadership. Ensure appropriate acknowledgment and stewardship of gifts. Publicize the work of Tzedek America in coordination with the Business Development Manager Join us as our Director of Development , where your energy will drive impactful growth!
