Development Director (Part-Time) Brookfield Craft Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and help shape the future of one of Connecticut's oldest nonprofit craft education organizations. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities, and making a meaningful impact. We are looking for someone who is energized by growing philanthropic support and helping a creative nonprofit thrive.
Position Details Part-Time:
Approximately 20 hours per week
Compensation:
$32-35+ per hour, based on experience
Performance Bonuses:
Additional bonus opportunities based on agreed-upon fundraising milestones and organizational goals Flexible scheduling with a combination of on-site and remote work considered for the right candidate. About the Role The Development Director will be responsible for leading Brookfield Craft Center's fundraising strategy with a primary focus on increasing contributed revenue through individual giving, grants, corporate sponsorships, and donor stewardship. This position is ideal for an experienced fundraising professional who wants the flexibility of a part-time schedule while playing a significant leadership role in the growth of a mission-driven nonprofit. Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies Cultivate and steward individual donors Identify, solicit, and manage major gifts Research, write, and manage grant proposals and reporting Develop corporate sponsorship opportunities and community partnerships Coordinate annual giving campaigns and donor appeals Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, board members, and community stakeholders Track fundraising progress and provide regular reports to leadership Utilize donor management software to manage donor records and fundraising activities Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to strengthen Brookfield Craft Center's culture of philanthropy Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience Demonstrated success securing grants, major gifts, sponsorships, or annual campaign revenue Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and project management abilities Experience managing donor databases/CRM systems Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and board members Passion for the arts, education, or nonprofit work is strongly preferred Compensation & Performance Incentives In addition to hourly compensation, this position includes the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses tied to mutually agreed-upon fundraising goals.
