Job Description

Position Summary The Center of Concern is seeking a strategic, relationship-oriented, and highly organized Director of Development to lead the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts. The Director of Development will design and implement fundraising strategies, strengthen donor relationships, expand community and funding partnerships, manage development systems, and support fundraising events and campaigns. This position works closely with the Assistant Executive Director, leadership, staff, volunteers, interns, the Resource Development Committee, and the Board of Directors to advance the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. Development and Fundraising — 70% Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan aligned with the organization's mission, priorities, and financial goals. Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, special appeals, donor communications, and other fundraising initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, sponsors, community partners, and other funding prospects. Coordinate donor acknowledgments, recognition, updates, appeals, and stewardship activities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and constituent records in the organization's CRM. Track donor activity, giving history, campaign performance, and fundraising results. Develop fundraising reports and projections for leadership, the Resource Development Committee, and the Board of Directors. Participate in annual budget planning and develop fundraising and direct public support projections. Support leadership and Board members in donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and fundraising activities. Identify opportunities to increase donor retention, recurring giving, major gifts, sponsorships, and community support. Fundraising Events and Community Engagement — 20% Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising, donor, community, and educational events. Coordinate event budgets, communications, registration, materials, schedules, and logistics. Develop and maintain relationships with event sponsors, vendors, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders. Support volunteer recruitment, communication, engagement, and coordination for fundraising activities. Represent the Center of Concern at community meetings, networking events, donor gatherings, and other opportunities that support fundraising and relationship-building. Coordinate with staff and volunteers to support a positive experience for donors, sponsors, attendees, and community partners. Evaluate fundraising events and recommend improvements based on participation, revenue, expenses, and engagement. Development Operations and Special Projects — 10% Maintain development resources, templates, shared materials, files, and fundraising systems in SharePoint and other organizational platforms. Support the administration and effective use of the organization's CRM and other development-related technology systems. Maintain accurate records related to donors, prospects, campaigns, events, sponsorships, volunteers, and fundraising activities. Prepare development reports, dashboards, correspondence, presentations, and other materials as needed. Supervise and coordinate development interns, volunteers, vendors, and project-based staff as assigned. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public administration, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant nonprofit development or fundraising experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience with annual giving, donor relations, fundraising campaigns, special events, or community engagement. Experience with nonprofit CRM or database systems; experience with EveryAction is preferred. Ability to maintain accurate donor, constituent, volunteer, event, and fundraising records. Experience supporting vulnerable populations in a nonprofit or community-based setting. Experience coordinating volunteers, interns, vendors, community partners, or fundraising events. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare donor correspondence, appeals, reports, and presentations. Strong relationship-building, organizational, project management, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM platforms, email marketing tools, and other digital systems. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, leadership, volunteers, donors, community partners, and the Board of Directors. Commitment to the mission of the Center of Concern and to support individuals and communities in need. Schedule and Work Environment This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 37.5 hours per week. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexible hours and a hybrid remote schedule available with supervisor approval. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
