Ronkonkoma, NY Who We Are Habitat for Humanity of Long Island is seeking an accomplished fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing major gifts, leading development teams, and driving revenue growth. . With a growing pipeline of affordable housing developments, innovative construction initiatives, expanding community partnerships, and future capital projects on the horizon, the organization is creating new opportunities to increase its impact across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The Director of Development will play a central leadership role in helping secure the philanthropic investments necessary to bring these transformative projects to life while working with a talented, mission-driven team that values innovation, accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture. What You'll Do
- Develop and implement bold fundraising plans that drive revenue growth and long-term sustainability including spearheading major gifts, capital campaigns, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant funding efforts.
- Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, corporate leaders and community leaders
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships that generate significant in-kind donations of building materials, construction services, and skilled labor.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop fundraising and outreach team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Establish annual and quarterly goals for team members and monitor performance through KPIs, dashboards, and accountability systems.
- Maintain fundraising dashboards and reporting systems to track performance, donor activity, pipeline development, and revenue goals.
- Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to strengthen fundraising engagement, donor cultivation, campaign strategy, and community relationships.
- Serve as a spokesperson and ambassador for affordable homeownership throughout Long Island. Who You Are
- 7+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing fundraising professionals and teams.
- Demonstrated track record of personally securing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, or major philanthropic partners.
- Proven success leading fundraising programs generating annual revenue of $2 million or more.
- Experience partnering with CEOs and nonprofit boards on fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and campaign development.
- Demonstrated success securing philanthropic support for capital projects, affordable housing initiatives, community development programs, or other mission-driven organizations.
- Expertise in major gifts, philanthropy, capital campaigns, corporate partnerships, foundation relations, grant development, planned giving, donor stewardship, and annual giving.
- Experience building fundraising infrastructure, donor pipelines, reporting systems, and performance metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; CFRE preferred.
- Proficiency with CRMs, Dropbox, Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising analytics tools.
- Exceptional relationship-building, public speaking, and storytelling skills.
