Donor Relations & Fundraising Specialist •
Position Type:

Reports To:
Executive Director Position Summary Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter is seeking an experienced, results-driven Donor Relations & Fundraising Specialist to lead and expand the organization's fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for cultivating donor relationships, securing financial support through individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, special events, and major gifts, and developing strategies that increase long-term donor engagement and revenue growth. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful fundraising and donor development within a nonprofit organization and be able to demonstrate measurable fundraising achievements. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies and campaigns. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major donors, and corporate sponsors. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors while expanding the donor base. Research and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and philanthropic partnerships. Coordinate donor recognition programs and stewardship initiatives. Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and capital campaigns. Track donor interactions, gifts, pledges, and fundraising outcomes using donor management software. Prepare fundraising reports and performance metrics for organizational leadership. Collaborate with marketing and communications efforts to create compelling donor appeals and fundraising materials. Represent the organization professionally within the community and at networking events. Maintain confidentiality regarding donor information and organizational operations. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of professional nonprofit fundraising experience. Demonstrated history of successfully securing major gifts, sponsorships, grants, or donor contributions. Proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising goals. Experience managing donor relationships and stewardship programs. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, and fundraising software. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Proven Track Record in the areas of Nonprofits, Fundraising, Donor Acquisition and Retention, Public Relations, Marketing, Grant Writing, or related field. College Education, and/or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential (preferred not required based on past professional experience). Experience working within a nonprofit sector (required). Grant writing experience with documented funding success (required). Past Performance Expectations Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific fundraising accomplishments, including: Total dollars raised. Size and scope of donor portfolios managed. Grants secured. Corporate sponsorships obtained. Fundraising campaigns led. Revenue growth achieved.
