About the role The Fundraising (Development) Manager is responsible for supporting the organization's fundraising efforts, with a focus on planning and executing successful fundraising events, managing donor data, and providing administrative support to the Development team. This role will work closely with the Development Director to ensure seamless execution of fundraising strategies and provide excellent customer service to donors and stakeholders. Duties/Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Plans and executes existing and future fundraising events, including The Goodtimes Gala, Drive-A-Thon, and other initiatives, to secure funding and resources for the organization.
- Coordinates event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual equipment.
- Responsible for donation acceptance tasks including entering gifts in CRM, acknowledgment letters, birthday, honor, and in memoriam card mailings, as well as manage the organization's donor database to ensure accurate and up-to-date records and provides data management support to the development team.
- Establishes strategies to boost attendance and engagement at fundraising events to expand the organization's donor base.
- Collaborates with the Development Director to create a comprehensive donor stewardship plan and ensures its successful execution.
- Coordinates and manages third-party fundraisers and provides necessary organizational support such as updated content, branding guidelines, volunteer connections, donor data, and communication templates.
- Assists with the development and implementation of various fundraising appeals, including but not limited to year-end appeals, peer-to-peer campaigns, and other targeted fundraising initiatives, to secure resources for the organization.
- Creates and manages donor acknowledgement communications, such as thank-you letters, end-of-year summaries, and stewardship materials, in collaboration with the development team.
- Manages the organization's fundraising calendar, including deadlines and timelines for events and campaigns.
- Builds and fosters relationships with event vendors, including caterers, venues, and audio-visual equipment providers, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Supports the budget creation process and tracks expenses related to events and programs under this position's oversight.
- Analyzes and reports on event metrics and offers recommendations for improvement and growth. Other
- Creates social media posts and website updates relevant to the development team's activities, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
- Contributes to the overall success of goals and initiatives of The Goodtimes Project by working as a team - supporting teammates, collaborating, problem solving, and attending events, camps, or programs when needed.
- Helps grow our organization's connections with outside support organizations, such as hospitals, other non-profits, and service providers.
- Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion, adhering to the organization's data protection policies and procedures.
- Participates in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in fundraising, donor relations, and non-profit management.
- Other duties as assigned. Who you are
- BA/BS in a related field such as marketing, communications, business development, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years of fundraising, development, or related experience (paid or volunteer) preferred.
- A strong connection to and knowledge of service-based organizations and/or prior volunteering with The Goodtimes Project or similar is a plus.
- Passion for and desire to nurture our mission and to inspire it in others.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), Google Docs/Forms, and Adobe as well as the drive to learn additional software.
- Preferred experience with CRM and auction software, particularly Bloomerang and Greater Giving.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Must have a state issued driver's license (Washington state preferred).
- Must have access to a car.
- May require ordinary ambulatory skills; or the need to stand, walk, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weight up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to attend annual fundraising events.
Salary and Benefits The salary for this position is DOE, range is $31 - $35 an hour. Possibility of overtime around larger fundraising events. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term insurance; employee assistance program; accrued paid time off; flexible hours; potential hybrid position but not guaranteed, in person days will be required.
