Job Description

Job Summary The Development Project Manager strengthens the Foundation's fundraising effectiveness by coordinating development projects, maintaining disciplined moves management processes, and ensuring that donor strategies move forward on time. The role works closely with the CEO, development staff, board members, and other volunteers to translate fundraising priorities into clear plans, assignments, follow-up, and measurable progress. Roles & Responsibilities Manage development projects from planning through completion, including timelines, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, and follow-up. Coordinate the Foundation's moves management process so that prospects and donors advance through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Prepare for and facilitate regular prospect strategy meetings; document decisions, assign next steps, and monitor completion of commitments. Partner with the CEO and development leaders to prioritize prospects, clarify relationship ownership, and develop individualized engagement and solicitation strategies. Support staff, board members, and volunteers in donor engagement by preparing briefings, meeting materials, talking points, proposals, and follow-up correspondence. Maintain accurate and timely prospect, donor, activity, and opportunity information in the Foundation's constituent relationship management system and related planning tools. Create and maintain prospect pipelines, dashboards, calendars, and reports that help leadership understand activity, projected revenue, next steps, and progress toward goals. Coordinate development initiatives such as major gifts, annual giving, campaigns, sponsorships, grants, donor events, and stewardship activities, as assigned. Identify stalled strategies, missing information, scheduling conflicts, and other barriers; elevate concerns and recommend practical solutions. Coordinate across departments to ensure fundraising activities align with Foundation priorities, communications, programs, finance, and donor restrictions. Help establish consistent development processes, templates, documentation standards, and accountability practices. Protect confidential donor and organizational information and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive matters. Represent the Foundation professionally in interactions with donors, volunteers, partners, and community members. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered. Three to five years of experience in fundraising, development operations, project management, nonprofit administration, or a related field preferred. Experience supporting major gifts, campaigns, donor relations, or prospect management strongly preferred. Experience working with executives, boards, fundraising volunteers, and cross-functional teams preferred. Project management with the ability to organize multiple priorities, establish realistic timelines, and drive work to completion. Strong understanding of donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and moves management principles. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and respect for confidentiality. Ability to build productive working relationships and create accountability without direct supervisory authority. Analytical ability to interpret fundraising activity, identify trends, and translate data into useful next steps. Adaptability, initiative, and a collaborative approach in a changing environment. Experience with constituent management systems, project management platforms, spreadsheets, word processing, Microsoft and Google suit of applications. Addition Requirements Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Evening and weekend hours may be required. Local and regional travel may be required. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
