The specific focus areas of the NPD Specialist may vary depending on the area to which they are assigned, such as a general role or a role within areas like critical care, telemetry, or other clinical specialties. Qualifications Education Bachelors in Nursing degree (BSN) required. Master of Nursing degree (MSN) preferred. Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC ) preferred. 8 hours Job Description TheNursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialistplays a vital role in advancing the practice of nursing through the development, implementation, evaluation of educational programs, fostering professional growth, and ensuring nursing competencies meethigh standards. The NPD Specialist works closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to provide educational support, drive continuous improvement, and enhance the quality of patient care through evidence-based practices. The NPD Specialistis responsible foridentifyingand addressing the learning needs of nursing staff through the design and implementation of effective educational programs. This includes developing orientations, continuing education initiatives, and competency assessments that align with clinical and organizational goals.
