Grant Writer Chicopee, MA Job Details Part-time $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Writing grant proposals Bachelor's degree Fundraising Full Job Description Mental Health Association, Inc. (MHA) is seeking a part-time Grant Writer to work within our Development and Community Relations team. The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundation, corporate, civic, and government funders in support of the organization's mission and programs. This role manages the full grants lifecycle, from prospect identification and proposal development to reporting, and works closely with program and Fiscal staff to gather information, align narratives with funder priorities, and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with keen attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to the organization's work.
Schedule:
100% on-site, 20 hours per week (TBD upon hire)Payrate:
$35.00 / hour Position's Essential Functions 1. Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies. 2. Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and submission. 3. Writes, revises, and edits draft proposals including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. 4. Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals. 5. Assists in the maintenance of a Grants Library to aid in the development of consistent grant submissions and accurate data points. 6. Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities. 7. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Development & Community Relations as needed Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, communications, creative writing, or a related area A minimum of five (5) years' experience in grant writing Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process Experience writing grants for human service agencies preferred Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources Multitasking, organizational, and time management skills Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to speak and hear. They are occasionally required to kneel, sit, push, pull, reach, and climb. They are also required to use their hands and fingers to grasp, hold, type, and write. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs and lift up to twenty-five pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include color distinction, visual inspection, visual perception, and eye/hand coordination. This role requires working at the Chicopee, MA office.
