Job Description

San Mar Family & Community Services continues to grow as a nationally recognized, 21st century child welfare organization! We're hiring, and we're looking for the right person to continue to support the growth of our mission to cultivate hope & well-being in children, families and communities. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Development Manager. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Manager will be a key member of the development team, with responsibilities for donor identification and stewardship, event coordination, and administrative duties to help meet department revenue goals. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, have high attention to detail, and be skilled in managing and prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects. Reporting to the Director of Development, responsibilities will include :
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Research and identify new sources of local, regional, and national grants and Foundations that align with San Mar's mission, vision, and values
  • Manage grant timelines to ensure timely completion and submission of reporting requirements
  • Coordinate annual appeal administration, including cultivating annual donors to solicit larger gifts, and work with mail house vendors for the year-end direct mail appeal
  • Oversee gift and acknowledgment processes
  • Design and create email newsletters and appeals at least 6 times per year
  • Coordinate promotion, logistics, and operations of fundraising events and projects, such as San Mar's signature event, The Great Bicycle Tour
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of two years of related development experience required
  • Possess a high degree of integrity through work ethic, personal accountability, professional image, and ethical behavior
  • Excellent writing, editorial, and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative-taker. Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer literacy skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva preferred
  • Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values This is a full-time on-site position with occasional exceptions
Typical Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm

$52,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
