Job Description

Mission At Syracuse Northeast Community Center (SNCC) we engage, grow, and connect neighbors, supporting them in moving from emergency to self-reliance, health, and wellbeing. NEHDA, an affiliate of SNCC, empowers the Northside community by promoting quality housing, fostering financial security for families, and supporting businesses. Job Description The 2Gen Employment Specialist supports individuals referred via Onondaga County 2Gen through comprehensive career development that includes assessment, guidance, training, development, and career mapping. This person will collaborate closely with Onondaga County 2Gen staff to provide comprehensive care for participants. The 2Gen Employment Specialist is a self-starter with strong relationship and organizational skills. 2Gen Employment Specialist will develop and sustain supportive participant relationships, track data, and engage participants with essential services that provide for the long-term wellbeing and health of participants. This position requires work at SNCC office (716 Hawley Avenue) and at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center offices of Onondga County 2Gen. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Receive referrals from Onondaga County 2Gen Initiate contact to evaluate, perform intake and Life Needs Assessment Develop trusting relationships and Individualized Employment Program (IEP) Implement IEP to develop soft skills and create employment materials Support participants in engaging with essential services and overcoming barriers around transportation, housing, public assistance, and employee assistance Connect with employers/employment for ongoing support Engage in continuous professional development around employment trends, job searching, resume writing, interviewing, soft skills, and compassionate coaching Track program data and case notes within Salesforce and County databases Communicate progress and create reports with as directed by supervisor Other duties as assigned Supervisory Duties City of Syracuse resident with knowledge of the community preferred Experience in human services-related field preferred Able to work independently and in collaboration with Onondaga County personnel to administer program Strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills Multilingual/multicultural preferred Welcoming, compassionate, and able to work well with community members Flexible, collaborative, able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time Professional and on-time, able to work an adjustable schedule as directed Possess reliable transportation Benefits SNCC pays 85% of Excellus Gold 17 healthcare plan SNCC pays 100% of Excellus dental plan NYS Sick Leave for 90 days (1 hour credit/30 hours worked) 150 hours of annual PTO (prorated as necessary) after 90 days

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
