Job Description

Position Summary The Grants & Development Manager is responsible for securing and overseeing revenue that supports the mission and sustainability of the theater. This role leads institutional giving efforts—including grant research, writing, reporting, and compliance—while also supporting individual giving, sponsorships, and development operations. The ideal candidate is an organized, persuasive writer with strong relationship-building skills who understands the nonprofit arts funding landscape and enjoys translating artistic impact into compelling funding narratives. Candidates should possess a familiarity with Hocking County and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities Grant Strategy & Management Research and identify public and private grant opportunities aligned with the theater's mission and programs Write, submit, and manage grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materialsTrack grant deadlines, requirements, and reporting schedules Prepare interim and final grant reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance Maintain grant files, documentation, and funder correspondence Development & Fundraising Support Support individual giving campaigns, donor appeals, and stewardship efforts Assist with sponsorship proposals and donor recognition materials Collaborate on fundraising events, benefits, and special campaigns as neededHelp cultivate and steward relationships with donors, funders, and community partners Data, Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate development records in the CRM or donor database Track contributed revenue and assist with forecasting and development reports Coordinate with the board treasurer on all fronts. Support audit or funder compliance requests related to contributed income Collaboration & Communications Work closely with the Executive Director and all Theater team members. Translate artistic and community impact into clear, compelling funding language Support board members and leadership with development materials and talking points Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (communications, nonprofit management, arts administration, or related field preferred) or equivalent experience. 2+ years experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or fundraising Demonstrated success securing grants or institutional funding Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines Work Environment This position involves a mix of office, front-of-house, and physical activity related to facility support. Will be required to work occasional evenings or weekends. Recognition that the facility is undergoing major changes and growth- flexibility for job required and acceptance of "other duties as assigned."
