Job Description
Fairfield Inn & Suites By Marriott Downtown Decatur We currently have an opening for a Assistant General Manager. Self-starters with a positive attitude are welcome to join our growing team and growing company. Key attributes and responsibilities of the position include:
- Creating a culture of empowerment and team spirit
- Assisting the General Manager for implementation and consistency of the company's standards and expectations
- Working with Team Members to ensure ongoing training and development for a positive and proactive approach towards all of the property's guests
- Focus on the delivery of Customer Service with a proactive approach and response to guest comments/complaints as required by the brand standard and company policy,
- Monitor team member schedules
- Assisting in growing market share for the property
- Knowledge of ordering, Inventory, and Brand Audits
- Firm grasp of controllables, POS system audit, and flow of sales into the pms system
- Interview, train, schedule, coach and support front desk agents, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards
- Interacting with the General Manager, all key leaders and staff across the hotel as well as corporate office and team
- Ability to have flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, holidays as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior management or supervisory experience in hospitality Marriott preferred
- Basic accounting and math skills
- Prior PMS system experience
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer skills with basic programs and websites
