Job Description

CONFIDENTIAL
EXPERIENCED DEALERSHIP GENERAL MANAGER RV
Dealership Group | Western Arkansas An established RV dealership in Western Arkansas is conducting a confidential search for an accomplished General Manager to assume responsibility for the overall performance and daily operation of the dealership. This is not a sales manager position with a General Manager title. We are looking for a proven dealership executive who understands how to lead an entire operation — Sales, Finance, Service, Parts, inventory, people, processes, customer experience, and profitability. More importantly, we are looking for a leader of people and a developer of leaders. The right individual will have already demonstrated the ability to build teams, develop managers, establish accountability, understand dealership financials, and create a culture in which people know what is expected of them and have the leadership, training, and tools necessary to perform.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The General Manager will have responsibility for the overall operation and performance of the dealership and will work directly with ownership to execute the organization's business objectives. This individual must be equally comfortable leading people on the dealership floor and analyzing the financial performance of the business. The successful candidate will be expected to establish clear operating standards, develop department leadership, improve processes, recruit talent when necessary, and create consistent accountability throughout the organization. This is an opportunity for an experienced dealership operator who wants to build something , not simply maintain it.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Manager will: Provide hands-on leadership for Sales, F&I, Service, Parts and overall dealership operations Take ownership of dealership financial performance, including revenue, gross profit, expenses and net profitability Understand and effectively manage the dealership P&L, departmental statements, budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators Establish measurable expectations for every department and hold department managers accountable for results Recruit, hire, onboard and retain high-performing employees Identify and develop future managers and create a meaningful leadership bench within the organization Coach and develop department managers rather than simply managing around them Establish consistent daily, weekly and monthly operating rhythms throughout the dealership Drive sales performance while protecting gross profit and maintaining an exceptional customer experience Oversee F&I performance, product penetration, compliance and profitability Understand fixed operations and work directly with Service and Parts leadership to improve productivity, efficiency, customer retention and profitability Manage inventory strategy, aging, turn, pricing and overall inventory health Maintain strong CRM and DMS discipline and use dealership data to make informed operating decisions Develop realistic forecasts and operating plans based upon historical performance, current trends and available opportunities Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors and business partners Resolve high-level customer issues professionally and appropriately Ensure compliance with applicable dealership, financial, employment and regulatory requirements Communicate clearly and consistently with ownership regarding performance, opportunities, risks and action plans Build a culture based on leadership, professionalism, accountability, development and execution
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who has already led a dealership — not someone looking for their first opportunity to try.
The ideal candidate will have:
Significant dealership management experience with demonstrated full-store operational responsibility Previous successful experience as a General Manager, Operating General Manager, or comparable senior dealership executive Strong financial acumen and the ability to read, understand and act upon a dealership financial statement Proven experience leading both variable and fixed operations Demonstrated success recruiting, hiring, coaching and developing employees and managers A documented history of improving dealership performance and profitability Strong knowledge of inventory management and aging Experience managing departmental KPIs and establishing performance accountability Working knowledge of CRM and dealership management systems Strong communication and organizational skills High personal integrity and sound judgment The ability to make difficult decisions when necessary while maintaining the respect of the organization A leadership style built around clarity, consistency, accountability and development
THE PERSON MATTERS
We are not interested in a manager who believes leadership means simply pushing people harder. We are looking for someone who can walk into a department, understand the people, understand the numbers, identify what is preventing performance, develop a plan, communicate it effectively and lead the team through execution. You should know how to hold people accountable without destroying culture . You should know how to develop managers rather than becoming the manager of every department yourself. You should understand that sustainable dealership performance comes from having the right people, the right processes, clear expectations and consistent execution. And you should have the confidence and experience to lead an entire organization.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in this position means building a dealership where: Managers lead. Employees are developed. Expectations are clear. Processes are followed. Customers receive an exceptional experience. Departments communicate. Performance is measured. Problems are addressed. And the dealership produces consistent, sustainable profitability.
COMPENSATION
This is an executive-level position with a highly competitive compensation opportunity appropriate for an accomplished General Manager. The final compensation structure will be based upon experience, demonstrated performance and the candidate's ability to assume full operational responsibility for the dealership. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
CONFIDENTIALITY
This search is being conducted confidentially. All resumes, inquiries and conversations will be handled with discretion. Qualified candidates should submit a resume along with a brief summary of their dealership leadership experience, including: Size and type of dealership(s) previously managed Departments directly overseen Team size P&L responsibility Significant performance improvements achieved Hiring and leadership-development experience Reason for considering a new opportunity Only candidates with substantial dealership leadership experience will be considered.
