Job Description
Management Trainee K-Apex (A member of KLN) | Burlingame, CA | Full-time, on-site | 2-3 openings About K-Apex K-Apex is the US arm of KLN, a global logistics group. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Burlingame, California, K-Apex is the number one Transpacific NVOCC, moving more than 500,000 TEU a year. The business spans ocean freight (FCL and LCL), international air freight consolidation, container drayage at major US ports, and warehousing and 3PL operations, with stations across the United States and a network of KLN and partner offices worldwide. The program This is a three-month rotational training program based at our Burlingame headquarters, built for recent college graduates who want a ground-up education in international logistics. A cohort of two to three trainees rotates through every side of the business, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, business management, and 3PL, shadowing the teams that run each function and taking on projects along the way. Trainees report directly to K-Apex senior management. At the end of the program, each trainee is placed into a permanent, fast-tracked management role in the department that best fits their performance and preferences. Placement may include the opportunity to relocate to one of our other US offices. Relocation is optional, not required. What you'll do Complete structured rotations through sales, marketing, operations, finance, business management, 3PL, and other areas of the business from a leadership viewpoint Shadow department managers and staff to learn how each function runs day to day Take on projects during and alongside your rotations Report directly to senior management throughout the program Build a working knowledge of how an international freight forwarder operates, from pricing and booking through delivery and billing What we're looking for A bachelor's degree or higher; this program is designed for recent graduates Coursework, internships, or work experience in international business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred, but we are open to all interested candidates Clear written and verbal communication Comfortable in Excel and quick to pick up new systems Able to work on-site at our Burlingame office five days a week Position details
