The work takes place at a variety of office locations within a hotel facility. The surfaces at the office locations are level, carpeted, tiled, or have wood flooring. All of the work locations are well-lit and temperature controlled. The Assistant General Manager may be exposed for limitedperiods of time to various weather conditionswhen ambulating from parking lot to officeareas, building to building or other outdoorareas. The position requires the operation of amotor vehicle.DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS/PURPOSE
Major Function:
Manages 2-4 subordinate supervisors which include the Front Desk Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor, Executive Chef and Maintenance Supervisor. Will assist the General Manager in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. May also directly supervise 20-35 non-supervisory associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization'spolicies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Major Functions:
1. Provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times. 2. Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. 3. Utilize guest's names in interactions whenever possible. 4. Promptly respond to all guest-related concerns including but not limited to complaints and special requests. 5. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures. 6. Know how to clean guestrooms to standards. 7. Know how to perform basic routine maintenance as well as how to properly operate all mechanical units within the guestroom. 8. Know how to operate all laundry equipment. 9. Keep maintenance personnel informed of all maintenance needs. 10. Business attire must be worn at all times in accordance with The Victus Group Inc and your hotel's brand standards. 11. Personal cleanliness and neat appearance are required. Shoes must be low heeled and have heels and toes closed. 12. Practice safety standards at all times. 13. Be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 40 lbs. Please inform property management if you are unable to meet this requirement so they can determine if a reasonable accommodation can be made. 14. Associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. 15. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may from time to time be established by The Victus Group is essential to the successful performance of this position. 16. Manage and coordinate, according to standard operating procedures, the functional areas of administrative and operational systems including housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, property management, reservations, guest feedback, payroll and human resource systems. 17. Interpret company policies and provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs. 18. Interview applicants. Orient and train new associates. Conduct ongoing training of all associates to increase job knowledge and skill level. 19. Coach and counsel associates to encourage positive behaviors and correct negative behaviors. 20. Ensure all employment activities are conducted in conjunction with established employment law. 21. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue and expense budgets. 22. Consistently monitor our competitor's pricing to ensure our rates are competitive at all times. 23. Process all Workers Compensation related information in a prompt manner consistent with The Victus Group policy. 24. Ensure departmental labor guidelines are met through optimal scheduling and holding associates accountable. 25. Conduct departmental meetings to review new procedures and solicit input from associates. Keep detailed minutes on file. 26. Promote teamwork and associate morale. 27. Interpret job specifications to staff and assign duties. 28. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist associates in solving work problems. 29. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate associates to achieve work-related goals. 30. Monitor hotel uniform standards. 31. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, i.e., promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. 32. Be knowledgeable of associate benefits procedures and administration. Ensure benefits are administered in a timely basis. 33. Strive to achieve or exceed budgeted occupancy both by nurturing guests and repeat business and through regular marketing and sales activity. 34. Promote and nurture a strong working relationship with all corporate departments including Accounting, Purchasing, Payroll, and Sales & Marketing. 35. Other duties deemed necessary by management and within the Associate's abilities. Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook. Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable. 36. Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record. This employer participates in E-Verify.
