As a key extension of the General Manager, the AGM helps oversee daily operations, drives membership growth, supports team development, and ensures exceptional member experiences that align with the standards and values of the organization. In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager assumes responsibility for club operations and serves as the primary leader on-site. This position requires a results-oriented professional who can motivate teams, execute operational initiatives, and uphold the integrity of the brand through strong leadership, accountability, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Support the General Manager in creating and maintaining a culture of diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and member satisfaction. Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop team members to achieve individual and club performance goals. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment where team members can thrive and grow professionally. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training qualified team members. Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment. Assume leadership responsibilities and oversee all club operations in the absence of the General Manager. Sales & Revenue Growth Lead and inspire the membership team to achieve sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor sales performance and provide coaching to improve conversion rates and overall effectiveness. Ensure accurate lead management, follow-up, and tracking processes are consistently executed. Support local marketing efforts, community outreach initiatives, and business partnership programs to drive membership growth. Promote club services, programs, and amenities to maximize member engagement and revenue opportunities. Operations & Member Experience Ensure the club consistently delivers a welcoming, professional, and exceptional member experience. Resolve member concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and in accordance with company policies. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, maintenance, and overall facility appearance. Ensure all equipment issues are reported and addressed in a timely manner. Assist with payroll processing, scheduling, and administrative functions as needed. Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Maintain accurate documentation and follow established protocols when addressing employee or member-related issues. Administrative Responsibilities Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices. Assist in communicating and implementing company initiatives and operational directives. Monitor daily club performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement. Support reporting, documentation, and other administrative tasks necessary for efficient club operations. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum age of 18 years. Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to provide required employment verification documentation. Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience in fitness, hospitality, retail, or a customer service-focused environment preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to motivate teams and drive results. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond quickly to operational and member needs within an active fitness environment.
