- to assist with coordinating programs across the full spectrum of emergency management activities, including preparedness, planning, response, recovery, and mitigation. The Emergency Management Officer Trainee
- will analyze and resolve problems, assist in developing emergency plans, and help facilitate special interest and volunteer programs and projects.
- will participate in Duty Officer rotations and support staffing for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Recovery efforts.

Incumbents in the class of Emergency Services Officer Trainee are eligible for promotion to Emergency Services Officer ($6,500.00 - $8,878.13 monthly) upon meeting the minimum qualifications for Emergency Services Officer and upon receipt of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must be promoted within 12 months of hire, or employment will be terminated. 6)Sponsorship :

Experience working in a Natural Disaster Emergency Management environment. Qualifying experience may include work performed through employment, internships, or volunteer service that provided exposure to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation activities, or disaster operations. (Emergency Medical Service (EMS) experience, including work as an EMT or paramedic, is not considered qualifying.)AND Education :
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent completed college coursework).- Candidates in

All qualifying education must come from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. International degrees or coursework require an official equivalency evaluation by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. OR Option 2:Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in an emergency management environment, with the responsibilities of an emergency services officer or coordinator for a public or private enterprise (such as federal, state, county, or city emergency services, or medical or large employer with a dedicated emergency management department) performing duties related to emergency management, preparedness, and/or recovery programs. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: A bachelor's degree in a Risk Management, GIS, Homeland Security or Criminal Justice. Knowledge and exposure to the duties and responsibilities of the Department of Office of Emergency Services. Strong technical abilities and comfortable working with software, data, and modern digital tools, and able to quickly learn new systems.
