The Assistant General Manager (AGM) ensures that all membership, fitness, service and related functions within the club provide for the best possible member experience and team member environment within Fitness 19. Moreover, the AGM is responsible for maintaining and operating the club in such a way as to achieve financial success for the club. In doing so, the AGM recruits, hires, trains and develops a diverse, high performance team that delivers on company goals and reflects the values of Fitness 19. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Communicating and upholding company standards and leading by example; manage a clean, friendly and well maintained club. Ensure that all employees create a culture of service. Act as the key point of accountability for club experience for both members and employees. Responsible for the successful attainment of club goals (e.g. member service goals and expectations, cleanliness, revenue, and sales goals). Leading the execution of club programs and policies and implementing and executing a budget with specified revenue, expense, profit amounts. Executing and maintaining daily, weekly and monthly employee schedules. Ensure compliance with all labor laws. This includes meal and rest break laws, maintaining a harassment free workplace, and a developing an overall culture of compliance. The AGM will assistant managing all employees of the club and report directly to the General Manager. The AGM is assisted in the oversight of all vendor relationships within the club. The AGM is responsible for all customer service interactions. The AGM is responsible for performing the following activities for the club: Planning Participate and provide club specific input into the development/improvement of the club; Help set monthly club membership, fitness, service and employee goals. Maintain a fully engaged and high performing team that aligns with Fitness 19 values and goals. Provide consistent accountability for employees through training, coaching, and performance reviews. Recognize good performance and discipline when necessary. Club Management Establish an enjoyable, safe, organized, healthy and community-focused club culture that delivers high member satisfaction and achieves maximum profitability. To achieve this objective the CM will: Establish a member centric environment. Be a role model for member service behavior. Resolve elevated club member concerns in order to maintain club member satisfaction. Monitor club appearance and cleanliness and ensure problems are resolved expeditiously. Provide performance and progress reports to the General Manager on club goals and budgets. Perform regular review, edits and overtime approval in the club's time & labor system. Ensure club values, goals, and promotions are efficiently executed. Provide for the safety of employees, members and club property. Sales & Service Provide leadership support in the areas of membership, fitness and service. Lead by example and sell retail items, memberships and personal training. Provide ongoing training of all sales staff and personal trainers to optimize sales revenues. Accurately record and follow up with missed sales opportunities. The AGM should have the following qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience managing P&L and trend reports or demonstrated math analytical/ratio skills. Knowledge of fitness and fitness industry. Leadership skills.Certifications/Education Level:
High School Diploma or GED required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work in club office; move about club floors and rooms; review, revise, create club paperwork; communicate with employees, members and the public. Ability to access and operate club computer systems including prepare documents, enter data into computer system, read reports from a computer data base or email system.Work Environment:
Ability to work a varied schedule to support the needs of the club, including frequent extended workdays, and weekends and holidays may be required.Job Type:
