Job Description
Job Overview- (Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English) We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a community and ensure the property is managed efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with established standards and expectations. The General Manager will serve as a key leader and primary point of contact for the community, working closely with the Board of Directors, residents, staff, vendors, and corporate support teams. This position will oversee onsite operations, provide leadership and direction to staff, manage vendor relationships, monitor budgets and financial performance, and ensure a high level of service to residents and the community. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader and strong communicator with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, addressing challenges proactively, building strong professional relationships, and leading a team in a fast-paced environment. Duties Administer the community in accordance with applicable management agreements, established policies, and operational requirements. Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, Board members, association representatives, vendors, and other key stakeholders. Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of accurate budgets within established deadlines. Evaluate financial needs, operating trends, and market conditions to support sound business decisions. Develop and maintain resident engagement and service initiatives designed to promote a positive community experience and consistently high standards of customer service. Partner with internal departments and corporate support resources to coordinate services, resolve operational matters, and ensure the community's needs are effectively addressed. Evaluate operational challenges and available solutions, providing thoughtful recommendations and supporting the Board in making informed decisions. Prepare for and participate in Board meetings, including presenting management updates, operational information, census data, financial reports, and budget-related materials. Ensure appropriate documentation, meeting notes, and follow-up items are completed. Identify and implement opportunities to increase revenue, improve operational efficiencies, control expenses, and achieve cost savings without compromising service levels. Establish and maintain operational procedures and processes that support consistency, accountability, and the effective management of the community. Provide oversight of community association financial operations, including budget administration, financial reporting, and adherence to applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Support the review, negotiation, administration, and ongoing oversight of association-wide and service-related contracts. Maintain regular communication with residents, internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers. Coordinate and facilitate new resident orientation and other community information sessions as needed. Direct, supervise, and support onsite personnel, including establishing work priorities, coordinating daily assignments, managing schedules, and ensuring staff performance aligns with community operational needs. Monitor overall community operations and proactively address issues to ensure facilities, services, staff, and administrative functions are operating effectively and in accordance with established expectations. Skills Demonstrated leadership experience managing community, property, hospitality, residential, or other service-oriented operations, with the ability to effectively lead and hold teams accountable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with residents, Board members, employees, vendors, and other stakeholders. Proven ability to recruit, interview, onboard, coach, and develop employees while establishing clear expectations and fostering a professional team environment. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, projects, and operational demands simultaneously. Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, expense management, financial reporting, forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the judgment to evaluate complex situations, develop solutions, and make sound recommendations. Strong contract and vendor management skills, including the ability to evaluate service needs, communicate expectations, monitor performance, and assist with contract negotiations. Ability to develop and implement effective procedures, processes, and operational standards that promote consistency, accountability, and quality service. Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily responsibilities while responding effectively to changing community and operational needs. Proficiency with standard business technology and office applications, with the ability to learn and effectively utilize property management, financial, and operational systems. Professional presence and customer-service mindset with the ability to remain calm, approachable, and solutions-focused when handling resident concerns, Board matters, and operational challenges. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal support teams, external vendors, and community leadership.
