Commercial Specialty Construction Mandatory Licences & Certifications:
None Required (Specialty or General Contractor's License preferred) The Opportunity Drive the strategic turnaround and daily execution of a growing commercial specialty trade operation. As General Manager, you will hold complete P&L accountability, shape field operations, and directly partner with holding company leadership. This role offers high visibility, direct access to decision-makers, and a clear path to expand your impact across a growing portfolio. How You Will Make an Impact Own full P&L accountability to drive profitability, protect gross margins, and eliminate financial waste. Audit estimating workflows and job costs to enforce target material cost ratios and project margins. Oversee multi-crew field operations and multi-state mobilization to ensure job site safety and quality. Implement structured weekly operating rhythms, performance scorecards, and financial tracking systems. Direct project accounting discipline, including WIP analysis, retainage management, and lien timelines. Recruit, mentor, and hold operational staff accountable to build a self-sustaining leadership team. Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 7 years of progressive hands-on leadership in commercial construction operations ( or leadership experience in construction or a closely related industry.) Demonstrated experience taking full ownership of P&L management and operational budgets. Direct experience building, auditing, and defending detailed construction estimates. Proficiency using Accounting systems and construction project management software. Strong background in job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and WIP management. Willingness and ability to manage multi-crew operations requiring up to 20% travel. Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to maximize productivity, improve decision-making, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. Must demonstrate a growth mindset and the humility to receive constructive feedback from employees at every level, including direct reports, without becoming defensive. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related business discipline. Active Roofing or General Contractor's License. Military leadership background. Experience navigating organizational turnarounds or post-acquisition transitions.
