In this pivotal role, you will support the store's operational excellence, drive sales performance, and foster a positive environment for both customers and staff. Your leadership will ensure smooth daily operations, effective team management, and exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their managerial skills while contributing to the overall success of the store. Responsibilities Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management. Lead and supervise retail sales teams, ensuring they meet sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service. Manage employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team performance and engagement. Conduct interviewing and recruiting processes to attract top talent for various store roles. Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Monitor inventory management, merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and purchasing activities to optimize stock levels and product presentation. Supervise shift management, cashiering procedures, customer service standards, and operational compliance to maintain a seamless shopping experience. Skills Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes positively. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued. Proven experience in retail industry sales team management and retail management practices. Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on employee orientation, training & development. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory control tools, bookkeeping software, and basic math skills for retail math calculations. Effective leadership capabilities with a focus on team management, managerial communication, and operational oversight. Knowledge of grocery store or retail store product knowledge is advantageous; familiarity with merchandising, stock management, and pricing strategies is essential. Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of customer service and phone etiquette. Strong organizational skills with excellent time management abilities; experience in budgeting and operational management is preferred.
