Job Summary Ember Gardens is seeking an Assistant General Manager with experience in high-performing retail stores in the cannabis space, cultivating/leading exceptional teams and delivering exceptional guest service. We are seeking a unique hybrid of a leader, tactical plan creator, guest experience expert, people champion, and compliance expert. Someone who can manage multiple priorities while consistently delivering results and someone who is definitely passionate about cannabis! The ideal candidate has prior experience in this field, is self-motivated, scrappy, structured, well organized and has a calm, even-keeled personality that puts both guests and staff at ease. The AGM will be involved in all aspects of management, including but not limited to; planning, training, compliance, inventory, customer service and team leadership and has the possible trajectory of taking on the General Manager role within 6-12 months. Seeking this candidate to begin in fall 2025. Job Duties & Responsibilities Ensures accuracy and compliance in all transactions Performs the required duties to record all sales and inventory transactions in accordance with state and local laws and regulations Maintains established standards of Ember Gardens' presentation, customer service, and compliance Coordinates with the Management Team to ensure all employees have accurate, up-to-date knowledge and materials related to their position Working in conjunction with the General Manager, the Assistant Manager works to meet or exceed all financial goals for the location through effective partnerships, coaching and continuous improvement Supervises, leads, and inspires staff through coaching, implementation, and development of training and example setting Participates in the recruiting, training, development, and success of employees Ensures that new processes, efficiencies initiatives, and improvements are executed in a timely way Assists in store operational requirements, including scheduling to ensure proper floor coverage and management of client experience Immediately address any customer conflict or complaint, inspiring long-term relationships and loyalty to our brand Communicates the details of daily operations to the Management Team Implements and oversees procedures related to opening and closing of the retail store Stays informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, regulations, and industry news Assists in ordering of cannabis infused products (concentrates, vaporizer, topicals and edibles), clothing and accessories Performs inventory reconciliations daily, weekly and as needed Additional duties as requested. Qualifications Ability to pass a background check Three years retail experience, including at least one year in an advanced lead or management position Ability to manage a team of staff members at a time during normal business hours in a fast paced, heavily regulated environment Experience in inventory management and reconciliation Excellent oral and written communication skills Analytical skills to assess data, facts, and figures High level of competency using computers and technology Innate desire to achieve success and a work ethic to match
  • always keeping a high level of integrity Degree or direct experience in business, management, or related areas, preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to solve and resolve problems in a calm, professional, and courteous manner Personal interest in the cannabis industry and enthusiasm for learning Physical capability
  • ability to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, and perform computer processing operations.
Must be able to accommodate a varying schedule based on operational needs. Ability to handle stress in performing multiple tasks. May be required to use a phone. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Orleans Additional Requirements Minimum of 21 years of age. Ability to legally work in the US Possess valid driver's license or state ID. Must pass all required background checks. Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
