Assistant General Manager Jimenez Tire & Motor Mart Pontiac, MI Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Spanish English Assistant manager experience Store management Retail management Full Job Description Assistant General Manager - Tire Shop We are looking for a reliable, organized, and hands-on Assistant General Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our busy tire shop. This role is ideal for someone who is strong in customer service, team coordination, inventory organization, and purchasing/procurement. The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in keeping the shop running smoothly by assisting customers, supporting the team, maintaining organization of tires and inventory, and helping manage the overall flow of daily operations. The right candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with questions, orders, and service needs Help manage front-of-house customer interactions and ensure a positive customer experience Coordinate procurement and purchasing of tires, parts, and shop supplies Organize tire inventory and maintain an efficient storage system Work closely with the team to ensure a steady workflow throughout the shop Assist in overseeing day-to-day shop operations and problem-solving as needed Help maintain a clean, organized, and productive work environment Support staff communication and help ensure jobs are completed efficiently and accurately Qualifications Bilingual preferred but not required (Spanish/English) Proven experience in assistant management or supervisory roles within retail environments; previous assistant manager experience is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across shifts while fostering a positive work culture. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are advantageous for engaging diverse customer bases. Solid understanding of retail math—including sales calculations, pricing strategies, budgeting, and inventory control—along with basic bookkeeping skills. Proficiency with POS systems, wireless sales tools, merchandising techniques, and store management software. Demonstrated ability in employee orientation, interviewing techniques, recruiting efforts, training & development programs. Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail sectors is desirable but not mandatory. Exceptional organizational skills combined with time management expertise to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
