Position Summary We are seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead our machine shop operations with a strong focus on setting clear objectives, driving performance, and solving complex operational challenges. This role is responsible for translating strategic goals into actionable plans, aligning teams around measurable outcomes, and continuously improving processes to support sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Execution & Operational Leadership Working with and reporting to the CEO/President, execute the organization's strategic plan by translating high-level goals into clear operational objectives. Establish, communicate, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments. Align daily operations with long-term growth targets and performance expectations. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and data-driven decision-making. Regularly review performance metrics and adjust strategies to ensure targets are met or exceeded. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Identify operational challenges and lead root cause analysis to resolve issues effectively. Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches). Drive cross-functional collaboration to address complex production and process issues. Leadership & Talent Development Inspire and lead teams by promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Oversee employee selection, development, and retention to build a high-performing workforce. Coach and mentor department leaders to strengthen problem-solving leadership skills. Ensure clear communication of goals, expectations, and performance outcomes. Identify new equipment, technology, and capabilities and equipment to support business growth. Departmental Oversight The General Manager will have direct or indirect responsibility for the following functions: Production Quality Assurance Production Scheduling Maintenance & Equipment Management Key Skills & Qualifications Proven ability to set clear objectives and develop measurable KPIs. Demonstrated experience in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Demonstrated success in developing and executing continuous improvement plans. Experience leading multi-functional teams in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. Strong decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and employee development capabilities. Experience and Education Requirements Experience in
ISO 9001
2016 and AS9100D manufacturing standards. A balanced background in technical disciplines, operational leadership, and business management, supported by an associate's or bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty, operations management, or business administration, or similar work experience. 3-5 years of leadership experience in a machine shop operation or similar manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Must wear PPE and adhere to safety regulations as required.
