Ballinger | Leafblad is honored to partner with Jones Family Foundation on the search for its next Executive Director. Based in Red Wing, Minnesota, the Jones Family Foundation is a family-founded philanthropic institution that has spent nearly four decades building a reputation as one of southeastern Minnesota's most trusted community catalysts. Since 1988, the Foundation has grown from a single donor-advised fund into an independent supporting organization of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, now stewarding more than $14 million in invested assets across nonprofits, government units, and school districts throughout the Red Wing region. Most of its grantmaking flows into three focus areas — education, economic vitality, and arts & culture — with a dedicated pool reserved for bold ideas that don't fit neatly anywhere else. The next Executive Director will serve as the Foundation's chief executive, partnering closely with founders Scott and Anne Jones and the Board of Directors to codify decades of donor intent and institutional knowledge into a foundation built to thrive well beyond its founding family. This is a rare chance to help shape lasting philanthropic infrastructure in Red Wing, working hands-on across strategy, grantmaking, and community partnership as the Foundation's philanthropic capacity is expected to grow substantially in the years ahead.

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 8-10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including staff leadership Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and long-term financial planning for an organization of comparable scale Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to boards, community members, and media Direct nonprofit or philanthropic experience, including familiarity with grantmaking practices, processes, and policy Board service experience, in addition to staff leadership (preferred) Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic plans that increase an organization's impact and effectiveness (preferred) Experience working effectively in and with diverse communities (preferred) A track record of collaborative leadership that surfaces new ideas and turns them into action (preferred)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
