Job Description
The Associate Vice President of Facility Services serves on the President's senior leadership team, and reports directly to the College President. This position is accountable for the administrative oversight for the operations related to Plant Operations & Maintenance, Construction and Auxiliary Services. Provides leadership and oversight for the College's plant operation and maintenance, including custodial services, maintenance, and landscaping maintenance, and construction projects. Assists the President with Board of Trustees development and information as it relates to the Operations. Assumes a leadership role with government, community and other agencies to advance the college's mission and vision. Serves as a member of the President's leadership team. Ensures compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies. Accountable for the review, development, monitoring and compliance of policies, procedures, rules, regulations and budgets associated with the operations of the college. Acts on President's behalf with matters of construction projects, including meeting with the Building and Grounds Committee of the Board, attending construction conferences and meetings, meeting with architects, engineers, and the site construction supervisor Coordinates facility new construction and renovations, monitoring budgets and contractors Oversees short- and long-range facility planning Oversees the maintenance and usage of Off Campus Centers, ensuring that centers are fully utilized for classes and events Provides the leadership, guidance and direction to the Division of Operations in order to ensure that staff members provide the necessary services for customers of the college in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner. Attend Board of Trustee Meetings monthly Energy Manager Capital Projects Coordinator Performs other related duties as requested Five years of experience in a community/technical college Three years in operations/administration with supervisory experience Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
