117,558 - 176,337 YOUR ROLE The General Manager II is accountable for managing all aspects of a high-volume supply chain logistics operation to ensure consistent service quality, customer satisfaction, profitable and cost-efficient operations, and compliance with company policies, ISO standards, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and other regulatory guidelines. This role typically oversees single or multiple sites of greater complexity, including larger employee populations, broader operational scope, multi-client or technology-enabled environments, and expanded financial and customer accountability. The General Manager II provides leadership across operations, customer service, financial performance, talent development, and continuous improvement initiatives while modeling the company's guiding principles and core values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Oversee ongoing customer service. Utilize daily communications with the customer to discuss service needs and potential problems. Ensure attainment of profit objectives of contracts, provide financial analysis and decision making for customers. Manage organic growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customers. Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs. Oversee operations management within the company guidelines. Manage operations schedule and staff in anticipation of customer needs. Daily administration of contracts, including preparation of customer-related performance reports and other correspondence; requests from vendors, general office and contract employees; and all other items that fall within managerial scope of responsibility. Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer. Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance. Establish ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement, including the use of Kaizen, LEAN, and the EQS program to maintain quality performance. Manage cost control programs, including annual budget development, monthly P&L review, and payroll and cost analysis. Utilize Performance Management projects to guide managerial staff to monitor and control costs on a weekly basis. Negotiate and enforce collective bargaining agreement where applicable.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, 3 PL or Transportation; Master's degree, preferred. Minimum 10 years' experience and expertise in operations and business management. Industry experience, preferred. Experienced in providing leadership for multiple sites that are geographically dispersed, effectively delegating responsibility and authority to direct reports.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Characteristics:
Experience driving revenue growth, retaining customers, and managing profitability of multiple sites. In depth, experience-based knowledge of managing revenue, budgets, EBITDA, operations problem solving, customer service and managing people. Experienced in project management methodologies with focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals.
