Job Description

VP of Lending at AgTrust Farm Credit - New Mexico Division Are you a relationship driven lending professional who thrives on building strong customer partnerships, analyzing complex credit opportunities, and leading with integrity? AgTrust Farm Credit is seeking an experienced Vice President of Lending to join our New Mexico Division. In this role, you will develop and manage a high quality agricultural and commercial loan portfolio, cultivate customer relationships, and provide leadership in credit analysis, loan servicing, and business development. You will work with appreciable autonomy while ensuring lending decisions remain compliant with Association policies and sound credit administration practices. This position also provides leadership and mentorship to loan administration staff while supporting the continued growth and success of the New Mexico Division. What You'll Do Develop new agricultural, commercial, and real estate lending relationships while maintaining and expanding existing customer portfolios throughout the New Mexico territory Build relationships with agricultural producers, rural landowners, business leaders, and community partners to promote lending opportunities Analyze complex financial statements, tax returns, balance sheets, and cash flows to determine borrower creditworthiness Structure, approve, and service loans within delegated lending authority and Association policies Manage and monitor a high-quality loan portfolio, ensuring proper risk ratings and compliance with credit administration standards Perform complex credit analysis involving multi-entity transactions and participation loans Assist customers with loan servicing needs including extensions, renewals, conversions, and additional advances Support collections efforts and work with borrowers to maintain satisfactory loan performance Prepare and facilitate loan closing documentation and processes as required Represent the Association through community involvement and industry events across New Mexico communities Mentor and assist in training less experienced loan officers and credit staff Provide direct supervision of New Mexico Division Loan Administrators Ensure compliance with Association technology, security, and regulatory standards Perform additional duties and special projects assigned What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible banking, commercial lending, or agricultural lending experience Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and credit risk management Experience analyzing complex commercial and agricultural loan structures Knowledge of lending regulations, risk management practices, and collateral evaluation Strong leadership, relationship management, and customer service skills Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and sound credit administration practices Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required Ability to travel up to 25% within the New Mexico territory Why You'll Love Working with Us We don't just offer a job, we offer a long-term career in a place where you can grow, thrive, and make a difference.
