Our company handles both overnight linehaul runs and daytime city spot pickups , ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time service in line with FedEx's high standards. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our trucking business. Job Summary The General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of our daily trucking operations, including dispatch, driver supervision, route performance, fleet safety, and compliance across multiple terminals. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong transportation experience, people management skills, and operational know-how. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations. Lead, train, and support a team of drivers, dispatchers, and terminal staff. Manage scheduling for both nighttime linehaul and daytime pickup operations. Ensure compliance with DOT and FedEx safety regulations. Monitor vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and route performance. Collaborate with terminal managers and FedEx leadership to ensure high service standards. Analyze KPIs and reports to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Handle staffing needs, including hiring, onboarding, and scheduling. Respond to operational issues, delays, or emergencies as needed. Qualifications Degree in engineering, business, logistics, supply chain, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, trucking, or logistics operations. Proven experience managing multiple teams or terminals. Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking, and routing systems. CDL is a plus, but not required. Must be willing to travel between terminals within Ohio.
