Commensurate with experience About the Position The Wyandot County Office of Economic Development (WCOED) and Wyandot County Regional Planning Commission (WCRPC) are seeking an Executive Director to lead both organizations and support the continued economic growth, responsible development, and quality of life of Wyandot County. This position provides a unique opportunity to work across economic development, community development, and regional planning while building relationships with local businesses, government officials, community organizations, developers, property owners, and regional and state partners. The Executive Director serves as the primary administrative and professional leader for both organizations and is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that support business growth, investment, community development, and effective regional planning. What You'll Do Lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the WCOED and WCRPC. Develop and support business retention, expansion, attraction, and investment initiatives throughout Wyandot County. Serve as a resource and point of contact for local businesses, developers, investors, property owners, and community partners. Identify and pursue grants, incentives, funding opportunities, and other resources that support economic and community development. Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, state, and federal economic development organizations and partners. Represent Wyandot County at business, civic, economic development, and professional events. Administer regional planning activities and provide professional planning assistance to local governments and the Regional Planning Commission. Interpret and administer the Wyandot County Subdivision Regulations and Flood Damage Prevention Regulations. Review development applications and provide recommendations and technical information to local governments, planning commissions, elected officials, developers, and the public. Develop and manage organizational work programs, budgets, grants, contracts, and administrative activities. Prepare reports, presentations, communications, and recommendations for boards, commissions, local officials, and community stakeholders. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with both public and private sector partners.

Preferred qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, economic development, planning, or a related field. Three or more years of experience in economic development, business development, community development, regional planning, or a related field. Experience with public speaking, community engagement, project management, grants, economic development incentives, or local government. Professional certification such as AICP, CEcD, or OhioCED is highly preferred but not required. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
