Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and cash handling to ensure smooth business flow. Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring all staff are trained in sales techniques, product knowledge, and POS (Point of Sale) systems. Oversee retail sales activities by implementing effective merchandising strategies, pricing policies, and promotional campaigns to maximize revenue. Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a talented team aligned with company standards. Manage employee orientation, training & development programs, and performance evaluations to foster growth and engagement. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly with excellent communication skills, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Support inventory management through stock replenishment, stocktaking, ordering purchasing supplies, and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records. Assist in budgeting, sales management, marketing initiatives, and shift management to meet store goals efficiently. Utilize management tools such as POS systems and retail math skills to analyze sales data and optimize store performance. Ensure compliance with company policies on cash handling, cashiering procedures, employee safety protocols, and store cleanliness. Qualifications Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within retail or grocery stores. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases. Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, recruiting, employee orientation, training & development, and payroll processing. Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, bookkeeping practices, retail math, and merchandising techniques. Experience with retail sales strategies including pricing adjustments, marketing campaigns, and sales management. Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar environments is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, budgeting, cash handling, and administrative tasks.
