Job Description
Target Alpena Development Corporation is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to strengthen the economic vitality of Alpena and surrounding communities. The successful candidate will be a leader with strong communication skills, financial management acumen, and the ability to build partnerships. Economic Development Leadership Serve as the primary ambassador for Target Alpena. Recruit and attract new business development and investment. Support the retention and expansion of existing businesses. Foster entrepreneurship and small business development. Build strong working relationships with local governments, businesses, developers, and community organizations. Present economic development updates to community groups, elected officials, and stakeholders. Secure grants, memberships, sponsorships, and other financial support. Partner with the Board of Directors to establish priorities, and advance organizational goals. Provide leadership to Target Alpena programs and staff. Oversee the organization's lending activities. Core Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Sound judgment, professionalism, and integrity. Strong financial management and budgeting skills. Strong relationship-building abilities. Proven track record of effective leadership. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Computer proficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. Three to five years of relevant experience preferred. Relocate or live in Alpena County, or the surrounding area.
