Compensation:
$130,000
•$150,000 Base Salary + 30-35%
Performance Bonus Travel:
Occasional travel to Canada, Mexico, and HQ in Michigan Our client is a premier logistics provider delivering dedicated transportation solutions across North America. Operating out of our strategic hub in Detroit, they serve automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and industrial manufacturing leaders across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Role We are seeking a highly strategic, well-connected Vice President of Business Development to spearhead our long-term growth in the Automotive OEM space. This is not a transactional or 3PL spot-quote sales role. We are looking for an executive sales leader who understands complex, long-cycle OEM supply chains. Someone who can architect multi-year dedicated transportation contracts and build high-value relationships across North American automotive corridors.
What We Are Looking For Automotive OEM Logistics Expertise:
Extensive background in transportation and supply chain management specifically serving the Automotive OEM ecosystem (not general brokerage/3PL spot-market sales).
Proven Long-Cycle Track Record:
Demonstrated experience winning long-term, high-value enterprise contracts with sales cycles lasting 6 to 18 months.
Established Network:
A strong, active network of procurement and supply chain contacts within OEMs and Tier-1 automotive manufacturing.
Business & Financial Acumen:
Exceptional grasp of supply chain economics, dedicated fleet models, lane profitability, and contract structures.
Location & Travel:
Based in Michigan (Metro Detroit area preferred). Willingness to travel periodically to Canada, Mexico, and of course our headquarters in Michigan.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$130,000
•$150,000 annually
Incentive Bonus:
30%
•35% performance-based annual bonus tied to contract acquisition and revenue targets

Remote work setup with flexibility to manage your calendar and site visits

Identify, target, and secure long-term dedicated freight contracts with major Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 automotive suppliers across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Strategic Relationship Building:
Leverage your established automotive supply chain network to navigate multi-layer decision-making structures (Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Directors).
Long-Cycle Contract Negotiations:
Lead complex RFP/RFI processes and negotiate high-value, multi-year transportation agreements.
Cross-Border Growth:
Drive revenue expansion along cross-border shipping corridors connecting US, Canadian, and Mexican automotive hubs.
Executive Leadership:
Partner closely with executive leadership in the greater Detroit, Michigan area aligning business development initiatives with asset capacity and operational strategy.
