GENERAL MANAGER
Memphis, Tennessee | Full-Time About IRS Rebuild IRS Rebuild is a newly established residential construction company being built from the ground up as a sister company to Independent Restoration Services (IRS), a well-established demo and mitigation firm serving the Memphis market. IRS Rebuild will handle all post-mitigation reconstruction work generated by IRS — turning damaged properties back into finished, move-in-ready homes. This is a ground-floor opportunity. The General Manager will have the rare chance to shape the culture, systems, and team of a company that has a built-in pipeline from day one. The Opportunity We are looking for a driven, operationally sharp leader to build and run IRS Rebuild. As General Manager, you will be responsible for standing up and scaling a full-service residential reconstruction operation — managing projects, people, subcontractors, budgets, and client relationships — all while embodying our core values. Our Core Values Every member of the IRS Rebuild team is expected to live by these three values: Hunger. We pursue growth relentlessly — in our craft, our company, and ourselves. We do more with less and are never satisfied with the status quo. Leanness. We build lean — no waste, no bloat, no unnecessary complexity. Every dollar and every hour matters. Gratitude. We are thankful for the work, the team, and the clients who trust us. We lead with humility and give more than we take. Key Responsibilities Company Leadership Build IRS Rebuild from the ground up — establish workflows, vendor relationships, subcontractor networks, and internal processes Serve as the primary point of accountability for all reconstruction work generated from IRS mitigation jobs Develop and maintain a culture grounded in hunger, leanness, and gratitude Report directly to IRS ownership and provide regular updates on financial performance, project pipeline, and team development Project Management Oversee all active residential reconstruction projects from scope of work through final punch list and client sign-off Manage project timelines, budgets, and subcontractor schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery Conduct site visits and quality control inspections throughout each project Coordinate directly with IRS mitigation teams to ensure seamless handoff from demo to rebuild Prepare and manage detailed project estimates, job costing, and change orders Financial Performance Own gross margin performance across all active projects Track and report on job-level and company-level financial metrics quarterly Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or client experience Team & Subcontractor Management Recruit, hire, and manage field staff and office support personnel as the company grows Build and maintain a reliable network of licensed subcontractors across all relevant trades Hold subcontractors and crew accountable to quality, safety, and schedule expectations Qualifications Required Proven experience leading residential construction projects as a Project Manager or equivalent role Strong working knowledge of the full residential construction process — framing, MEP coordination, finishes, and final inspections Ability to read and interpret blueprints, scopes of work, and construction documents Experience preparing job estimates and managing project budgets and job costing Strong communication and client-facing skills Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate with minimal oversight in a startup environment Must be willing to obtain a General Contractor's license in the near future (existing license available to operate under in the short term) Preferred Background working with a custom or high-end home builder in a Project Manager capacity Experience in insurance restoration or post-disaster reconstruction Familiarity with the Memphis residential construction market and subcontractor ecosystem Proficiency with project management or construction software Compensation & Benefits Base Salary $80,000 annually Performance Bonus Quarterly performance bonuses are tied directly to gross margin performance.
